Police said on Sunday Troodos roads were open to all vehicles after an earlier warning of heavy frost that would allow only the passage of four-wheel drives or cars with snow chains.
However, due to the large number of excursionists, police, in the lunchtime bulletin, said traffic was very heavy. “Therefore, drivers are asked to be particularly careful, patient and comply with traffic signs and instructions of the police officers who are on duty to avoid accidents,” a police announcement said.
They advise motorists, before setting out, to check the police road bulletins either on the police website, on its twitter or Facebook sites, or the police app.
