A total of 73 sheep worth € 12,000 were stolen from a farm near Peyia on Tuesday.
Perpetrators loaded the sheep into a truck after removing the tags from their ears and necks.
Police went to the scene and collected evidence they hope can identify the thieves. They do not exclude the possibility that it was an organised gang given similar incidents recently.
Police said they had intensified their investigations and stepped up patrols, especially in the Paphos district.
