Arrest warrant issued for suspected co-op embezzler

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 46-year-old woman from Dromolaxia, an employee of the Famagusta-Larnaca Co-op Bank, who is suspected of embezzling around €100,000.

Police said that the co-op bank’s internal auditor had reported to Larnaca CID on Tuesday that following an audit it was discovered that around €82,500 was missing from the suspect’s cash box.

Around €19,000 was also missing from the registers of two other employees of the same branch in Dromolaxia for which she had keys.

Police are trying to determine her whereabouts.
