A woman, 32, and a man, 40, were remanded for five days on Friday on suspicion of stealing €12,000 worth of items from a Paphos home earlier this month, police said on Friday.
The suspects were arrested late on Thursday after a 56-year-old woman reported that between August 9 and 19, burglars had broken into her house in Chlorakas and stolen electrical appliances, furniture and other items worth €12,000.
In their attempt to escape, the thieves damaged the railing of the fence of the property with their car. The damage is estimated at €500, police said.
Officers identified the suspects from information on the car’s licence plate number.
The vehicle is registered under the 32-year-old woman’s name, while her husband, 40, appears to have been the driver during the theft.
Police said they did have not yet recovered the stolen items yet.
