A 29-year-old man from Syria was remanded for four days on Saturday for allegedly attempting to travel abroad through the Larnaca airport with false documents.
According to reports, the man, who was to travel to London on Friday night, presented an identification card as a Spanish national, which was not confirmed at the electronic control.
In his possession was also a Spanish passport that was not his.
The court heard that the suspect had arrived on Friday from Turkey through the north.
He reportedly claimed he had bought the documents from Turkey for €5,000.
Police and Interpol will investigate whether the documents are reported stolen.
