A 20-year-old man was remanded on Thursday for five days in connection to the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl in Paphos.
The suspect faces charges of kidnapping, assault and rape. The man, who reportedly used to date the 16-year-old in the past, denied all charges.
The girl reported on Wednesday to the police that he had visited her at home to have a talk while her parents were away.
When she refused, he took her to an open, isolated area, where he had sex with her against her will, the girl said.
The man was arrested at lunchtime Wednesday while the girl was examined by state pathologist Eleni Antoniou who found external injuries to her body.
